PET AlOx Film may show misleading bond or barrier results when a laminate is tested before the adhesive has completed its specified cure. A clear appearance immediately after lamination does not confirm that the final structure is ready for pouch testing.
An AlOx Film Supplier needs the film grade, adhesive system, coat weight, nip condition and curing history. Cailong lists uncoated, top-coated and retort-coated PET AlOx grades, so one curing schedule should not be assumed for every structure.
Separate Early Checks from Approval
Use early peel checks only to monitor the run. Label samples by lamination time and keep temperature and humidity records. Do not compare lots if their cure ages differ.
Test the Barrier after Cure
Measure bond condition, OTR and WVTR after the adhesive supplier's full cure period. Then repeat after pouch forming or the intended thermal process because folds and heat can expose a weak interface.
Define the Trial Record
Retain incoming film, uncured laminate and fully cured laminate. Send Cailong the grade, structure, adhesive, cure conditions, test method and failed samples.
